Discount theatre tickets for all Birkbeck students and staff

One of the benefits of our strategic partnership with Theatre Royal Stratford East is that we will, from time to time, be able to negotiate discounts on behalf of Birkbeck students and staff – not just those based at our new faculty in Stratford but to everyone working or studying with Birkbeck, full-time or part-time.

The first of these special offers is for Familyman by Rikki Beadle-Blair. This brand new comedy play about parenting in the noughties, has a hugely talented cast with former Eastender, Gary Beadle in the title role. Birkbeck students and staff will be able to enjoy this hilarious comedy on Tuesday 13th May at 6.30pm or Wednesday 14th May at 2pm or 7.30pm for just £7 each for the best available seats (at time of booking). Seats normally cost £19 or £12 so this really is a good deal. Familyman lasts approximately 2 hrs 15 mins (including an interval). We are told the show is already proving very popular so please don’t delay if you want to take up the offer as we think tickets are very likely to be snapped up.

To claim yours just call the Theatre Royal Box Office on 020 8534 0310 and mention ‘Birkbeck’ offer when booking. Or you can book online by going to www.stratfordeast.com and selecting whichever of the three performances you would prefer to attend on the booking page. You will then be asked to enter a coupon code which is Birkbeck, and will be taken through the rest of the booking processs from there. Whether on the phone, in person or online, all tickets will have to be paid for at time of booking and this offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other concession or promotional offer. The offer is subject to seat availability for the performances specified only and is not available for any other performances. You will be asked to show your Birkbeck identity card when you collect your tickets on the day of performance.

In case you have never been there before, Theatre Royal is a wonderful old Victorian building just three minutes walk from Stratford Station, which itself is a mere 12 minutes from Liverpool Street on the Central Line. Stratford is also served by the Jubilee Line, The DLR, Overground and Mainline trains and is one of London’s primary transport hubs so getting there and back should not be a problem.

We hope this will be the first of many such offers and that you will be able to come and enjoy what Stratford has to offer.
